10th Annual Emerald Isle Christmas Parade!

slide76The 10th Annual Emerald Isle Christmas Parade sponsored by the Emerald Isle Business Association and the Town of Emerald Isle takes place on Saturday, November 30, 2013 beginning at 3pm on Hwy 58, Emerald Drive.

Important note to all entrants: There will be only ONE Santa Claus in the parade and he will be riding in a float at the end. All other Santa’s will be sent back to the North Pole! Also, please join us after the parade for the official Christmas Tree Lighting at Merchant’s Park!

Enjoy free refreshments, as well as a holiday caroling sing-a-long as Santa Claus visits with the children.

Enjoy some of Edenton’s nicest private homes as you take a self-guided walking tour through the historic district.  The homeowners are decorating with their finest natural decorations reminding all of a time past and helping to bring forth the spirit of Christmas.  This year’s tour features Hayes Plantation, home of James Johnston, son of Samuel Johnston, former Governor of N.C. (1787-1789) and one of the State’s first U.S. Senators.

West Jefferson’s Hometown Christmas includes a holiday celebration unlike any other beginning the day after Thanksgiving right up until Christmas Eve!

Come to historic downtown West Jefferson and enjoy our Festival of Trees at the Ashe Arts Center, participate in our handmade and home-grown Holiday Market at the Farmer’s Market and stroll the streets and galleries of our historic downtown area, all dressed up for the Christmas season.

To kick the holiday season off right, join us for the lighting of our Community Christmas Tree on November 23 when Santa & friends arrives in a an old-fashioned fire engine and hands out treats to all the children!

Don’t forget to choose and cut your own Christmas tree during an old-fashioned family outing at one of the many Choose and Cut Tree Farms right here in West Jefferson!
